I am running to put our kids first.

Hello! My name is Liz Heimerl-Rolland. I love Wauwatosa and our school district.

I want to see both of them thrive.

All students can reach their full potential if they have the support they need.

I am running to put our kids first academically.

Outside interest groups are playing politics - disrupting communities and progress.

I am running to put our kids first in policy.

Our students deserve the best school culture and community.

I am running to put our kids first in opportunity.

Meet Liz

She's smart, strategic, empathetic, and cares about Tosa kids.

I'm a wife, the proud daughter of a U.S. Air Force veteran, and a mother of three amazing kids (one at Longfellow, one at East, and one at UWM).

Our family chose to make Tosa our home more than a decade ago and I immediately got involved in our kids' schools, serving:

  • Two years as Lincoln Elementary PTO president

  • Six years as a Girl Scout troop leader

  • Three years as a Jr. Raiders football and basketball team manager

  • Almost a decade as a youth soccer team manager, and

  • One year as Girls on the Run coach.

I believe in putting our kids first: first in achievement, first in policy, first in opportunity.

I'm asking for your vote to serve on the Wauwatosa School Board on April 4, 2023!

Why Liz

Wauwatosa is a wonderful place. I'm grateful to live in a community where so many people are willing to be public servants.

But, it matters who we choose to represent us. And in the Seat 5 election for the Wauwatosa School Board, there are significant differences between myself and my opponent:

I am the only Seat 5 candidate who has:

  • A degree and extensive experience in both education and nonprofit management

  • Significant, real-world, professional experience in child behavior management, violence prevention and conflict resolution

  • Substantial experience in continuous process
improvement, strategic planning, program implementation and data
    collection.

  • Led as a Girl Scout Leader, Girls on the Run coach, and PTO President for two terms

I am ready to serve and to lead on day one.

My Career Journey

I graduated from UWM with a degree in early childhood education.

After college, I student-taught the K-3 Head Start class at Clarke Street School at MPS before teaching kindergarten at Grandma's House in Wauwatosa.

After opening a home daycare, I got my Master's Degree in Community Engagement and a certificate in Nonprofit Management at UWM. I then worked at MPS as a restorative justice coordinator before accepting a role at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) in Wauwatosa coordinating its Violence Prevention Initiative.

Currently, I serve as Program Manager at MCW's Office of Continuing and Professional Development, where I have worked for the past 8 years.  I work with healthcare providers from Children’s Wisconsin, Froedtert Hospital, Children’s Medical Group, Medical College Physicians and Community Physicians. I guide them through their continuing education requirements and help with quality improvement projects throughout all of the systems to improve patient care.

I have lead teams in strategic planning, data collection, budgeting, continuous process improvement, reviewed and managed grants and trained and managed staff.
